June Bride

The tradition of the June Bride possibly dates back to ancient Roman times and be connected to the goddess Juno. The month of June was named for this Roman goddess of love and marriage and it is said that the bride who marries in June will be a bride forever.

Many say that by the Middle Ages, the weather and the timing of annual baths were possibly a large contributor to the popularity of June weddings. In Victorian times, when Floriography (the language of flowers) became widespread, the abundance of fresh flowers available was also considered a contributing factor.
