The púca (pwca, pookah, phouka from Celtic, English, and Channel Islands folklore is a shape-shifting trickster with glowing eyes, often taking the form of a rabbit, goat, dog, cat, hare, or black horse. The mischievous púcaí are known to be capricious, whether wreaking havoc or bringing good luck. When in their horse form, the púca has a reputation for tricking humans into a terrifying ride through the night. This Celtic shape-shifter has a soft spot for the inebriated and is known to stalk tipsy people as they weave their way home from the pub.
